A letter from The Ravens Club
After 15 years, The Ravens Club has come to an end, and something new is beginning to blossom in its place.
When we opened in 2011, it was named The Ravens Club as a nod to Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”: dark, a little mysterious, and made for long nights. The idea was simple: a room with a soul, drinks made with real care, and a place where people felt like they belonged.
About a year and a half ago, a steep rent increase changed the math on everything. The truth is, the business model just can’t keep up with the rising costs. Even our busiest nights, with every seat full, aren’t enough anymore. To keep the doors open, we made change after change to the menu, the prices, the hours, and the way we ran the room. Some of those changes kept us alive. Many of them pulled us away from what The Ravens Club was meant to be. Rather than keep reshaping it into something it never was, it’s time to let it go.
To everyone who celebrated here, fell in love here, closed down the bar here, or just sat at the end with an old fashioned on a Tuesday night: thank you. Every one of you is part of this story.
Here’s what we can tell you: what’s coming next is being built with a lot of passion and a lot of creative freedom. It’s a one-of-a-kind space, with a late night that’s quirky, fun, and a little unpredictable.
